We’re happy to offer you Trnovo ob Soči bouldering guidebook. This guide showcases one of the most stunning bouldering areas and is in our home country, Slovenia. Imagine climbing beside the emerald-colored Soča River—it’s truly a unique experience. We played a small part in bringing this guidebook to life, but all credit goes to Andraž Gregorčič for creating it. Our contribution was capturing some of the photos featured in the guide.
Here’s a little more about what the guidebook offers:
The climbing guide is dedicated to bouldering along the Soča river, near the village of Trnovo ob Soči in Slovenia. The boulders were first discovered by Gašper Bratina, who, together with climbers from the Gorica region, began cleaning and climbing them as early as 2009. Today, the climbing area offers more than 1000 quality bouldering problems, with some still unclimbed and waiting for the strongest climbers. In the future, we can also expect an expanded version of this guide, as potential boulders and even sectors are still being discovered.
The bouldering guide began to take shape in 2020, when Slovenia was hit by the Coronavirus epidemic and we were limited to our home regions. During this time, Andraž was exlporing the climbing lines, searching for new boulders and arranging their landings. He noticed the extensiveness, quality and beauty the area has to offer. He created this bouldering guide with hope to contribute to the development of the sport and introduce climbing in this part of Slovenia to the wider climbing public.
